Trust & Safety

Your safety matters to us. Because AI training work is in demand, people do impersonate companies like ours to defraud jobseekers. Everything below is how you can tell a genuine approach from a fraudulent one.

If you only read one line: we will never ask you for money, and we will never ask for financial details outside our platform.

We will never ask you for payment

Payment only ever flows from us to you.

We will never ask you to pay a fee, buy equipment, cover training costs, or send money for any reason. We will never ask for your bank details, card details, or any financial information unless you are signed in to our platform, and then only so that we can pay you.

If you are not signed in and someone asks you for financial information, the request is not from us.

We will also never send you a cheque or payment before you have done any work. If you receive a payment from us, or on our behalf, before you have started a project, do not deposit it — contact us first.

How we will contact you

We only ever contact contributors from these domains:

aitrainers.tech is also ours.

If an email arrives from any other domain, treat it as suspicious even if the sender name and signature look correct. Always check the full email address rather than the display name — impersonators frequently pair a familiar name with an unfamiliar address, and sometimes register domains that differ from ours by a single character, such as a swapped letter or an added dash.

What a genuine application looks like

You may reach an opportunity in a few different ways. Some roles are advertised publicly, some are shared directly with candidates we have contacted, and some are reached through a referral link. All of them have three things in common.

Every application is completed on our own platform. Wherever you started, you will end up creating an account and applying on a Welo Data domain. If an application process never leaves an email thread, a chat window, or a third-party form, it is not ours.

There is never a cost to apply. No fees, no equipment purchase, no training payment, at any stage.

We never ask for financial details before you are signed in. Bank and payment information is only ever collected inside your account, after approval.

If you are unsure about an opportunity you have been contacted about, you can check our live listings from the Jobs section of this site, or ask us before you go any further.

Verified accounts

We do sometimes contact candidates through social media — most often LinkedIn, and occasionally other platforms. So an approach on social media is not automatically a scam, and we would rather tell you how to check than pretend it never happens.

These are our official accounts. Anything else using our name is not us:

You are welcome to follow these, share opportunities from them, comment, or message us directly.

However we reach you, these rules never change. We will never ask you for money. We will never ask for bank or card details outside your account. And we will never complete an application inside a direct message — we will always send you to our platform to apply.

If an account matching one of the above asks you for payment, treat it as compromised and report it to us.

If something looks wrong

Do not reply, do not share personal details, and do not click any links.

To report it to us: sign in to your account and raise a ticket through the Support Portal. If you do not have an account, contact us using the form on welodata.ai. Including a screenshot genuinely helps us get fraudulent accounts taken down.

If you have already shared financial information, contact your bank first, then tell us.

You can also report recruitment fraud to the authorities in your country, whether or not you have ever worked with us. In the United States that is the Federal Trade Commission and the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center; in the United Kingdom it is Action Fraud; elsewhere, your national cybercrime or consumer protection authority.

For more detail, search “Recognizing Scams” in our Help Center.

How we handle your personal information is set out in our privacy policy, linked in the footer.

How we look after contributors

Safety is not only about fraud. A few commitments about the work itself:

Rates are stated before you commit. You see what a project pays before you take it on. No hidden conditions, no changes after the fact. Premium rates apply on safety and content moderation work, where the work is harder.

Consent comes before sensitive content. If a project involves sensitive or potentially distressing material, you are told before you begin and your consent is required before you are assigned to it. You can decline without penalty.

Support is available. If a project affects your wellbeing, tell us. Depending on your location and how you work with us, we can point you to counselling and support services.

Check before you apply.
